Project Title:
Label-Free Identification of Cancer Cells using Aptamers and Laser-Based Biosensors

William Goldshlag received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley in 2005 and worked in the Silicon Valley until returning to graduate school in 2009. William's project funded through the M-CNTC grant aims to enable label-free identification of cancer cells using DNA aptamers and laser-based biosensors. More broadly, William's interests span all aspects of biomedical MEMS and optical MEMS sensors. After graduation, William aspires to pursue a career of a scientist, developing novel diagnostics and treatment instrumentation for health care. In his spare time, William enjoys weightlifting, swimming and snowboarding.
