Project Title:
Tissue-Engineered Cancer Construct for Studies of Nanobiomaterial Transport

Ross DeVolder was born, raised, and went to undergrad in the state of Iowa because of which he is a die hard Hawkeyes fan. Currently, He is a graduate student in the ChBE department and works in Dr. HyunJoon Kong's lab. His research focuses on developing biomaterials for tissue engineering applications. The main focus of the project is developing material systems with controlled properties that elicit desired cellular responses for biomedical applications. Ross's career goals consist of obtaining an industrial research (or management) position at a reputable company somewhere in the Midwest. For the past several years, he has been brewing beer, which he has become very skilled at. One of his aspirations (more or less a dream) would be to work for a microbrewery or start a small scale brewing operation.
